An unimaginable exhibition was staged in 1993 under the auspices of the Stadtmuseum in München (Munich), Germany of the absolute rarest-of-the-rare of Nazi memorabilia. The exhibition München - Hauptstadt der Bewegung included everything from a NSDAP Deutschland Erwache Standard with eagle and swastika metal work by Otto Gahr, to the Nazi Party personal Ausweis number 1 of Adolf Hitler.
There were many other personal items belonging to Hitler, the finest SS, SA and NSDAP uniforms, rare editions of Mein Kampf, Nazi posters and photographs, a Nazi swastika key to the city of München, concentration camp items and Jewish Kennkarte, Nazi china, original prototype samples of Nazi pins and badges, belt buckles, insigne, flags and flagpole tops, armbands, 80 foot long models of the Nazi city of München, ....
We attended the exhibition in München and were absolutely awestruck by the amount and the quality of the historical material displayed. We felt the exhibition should have been made permanent, if not in Germany then in America or some other neutral place. Today, only the huge 5 pound, 9 x 10-3/4 inch, 488-page exhibition catalog remains as proof that this exhibition ever occurred.
.... plans for the vault that was to contain the Blood Flag of the NSDAP, many items connected to the House of German Art including many original pieces of art, Degenerate Art, the very rarest SS Allach porcelain, Führer prizes and toys, Hitler’s desk from the Reichschancellery in Berlin, Hitler’s globe from the Reichschancellery, Nazi “kitsch”, Putzi Hanfstaengl’s piano and signed guestbook, material from the Reichsautobahn and the Berghof, anti-Semitic items and loot, and even a BMW bomber motor from 1942.
The 5 pound catalog is one of the very best photographic resources available anywhere on a wide range of material from the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler.
The example we offer on this USMBOOKS web page is in near-new condition, with a tight spine and no odor.
All this and much more is shown in this huge exhibition catalog, much of it in full color. Everything is carefully explained and attributed to the lender.
This exhibition began in München on 22 October 1993 and was intended to travel on to Berlin and other cities. So intense was the outrage at the showing of the relics of National Socialist Germany, that all subsequent venues for the exhibition were canceled and it quietly closed in late March 1994.
This superb catalog of the mid-1990s German exhibition München - Hauptstadt
der Bewegung is ** SOLD **
