This is a beautiful antique photo portrait of the most renowned aviator of World War I, Baron Manfred von Richthofen (2 May 1892 - 21 April 1918). The famous World War I ace-of-aces is wearing his Pour Le Mérite, Iron Crosses and many other medals on his Ordenspange in this portrait by famous Berlin photographer C.J. von Dühren. It appears to be the same image that is on Sanke postcard 450.
This fine 177 x 249 mm (7 x 9-¾ inch) German portrait printed on high-quality art paper of the Red Baron is undated and in very good condition. Blank back.
With the Red Baron portrait we acquired
a high-quality framable art print produced in the same era in Germany showing Fokker biplanes attacking RAF planes above France during World War I.
It measures 20 x 20 cm (7.8 x 7.8 inches) and is in very nice condition with a black back. No artist or manufacturer's information on either side.
