NAZI WAR CORRESPONDENT BOOK ABOUT THE LUFTWAFFE
DURING THE 1939 INVASION OF POLAND

Text and images copyright by USM, Inc.
This is a fine linen hardcover example of Mit Bomben und MGs über Polen (With Bombs and Machine Guns above Poland) with its original 1940 dust jacket. The author Josef Grabler (1899-1941) was a PK-Kriegsberichter der Luftwaffe, a Nazi Air Force war correspondent, who died on 22 May 1941 during Operation Mercury, the battle for the Greek island of Crete.

The book is about the 1939 Nazi invasion of Poland, and the important role the Luftwaffe played in that speedy victory. The author interviewed military men involved in different areas and compiled the experiences in Mit Bomben und MGs über Polen. The different ‘stories’ are all indexed in the back of the book.

Bertelsmann of Gütersloh in 1940 and this example of Mit Bomben und MGs über Polen is from the 171,000 to 220,000 print run. The dust jacket design is by Richard Hess of Berlin.
