This 6 x 9 inch, 140 page deluxe hardcover edition of Nationalsozialistischer Kampf gegen das Verbrechertum was published in 1936 by the Central Publishing House of the NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachfolger of Munich. Generalleutnant der Landespolizei and Chief of the Prussian Interior Ministry Kurt Daluege signed this book below the title on the page before the title page on 5 July 1936.
The book contains a portrait of Prussian President Hermann Göring, photos of Daluege with Göring in an open staff car, Reichsminister Dr. Frick, Prussian State Secretary and SS-Brigadeführer Ludwig Grauert as well as rare images of arrested career criminals, criminals put to work in Esterwegen concentration camp (which is referred to as an Erziehungslager or "Reeducation Camp" in the book -see photo above), mobile crime units, Nazi police archives, even cartoon-like drawings used by the Berlin Police to teach crime prevention.
In the back there are two pages with advertising for other books published by the Zentralverlag der NSDAP - Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler, Blut und Ehre by Alfred Rosenberg, Der Angriff and Kampf um Berlin by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Mit Hitler in die Macht by Dr. Otto Dietrich, and others.
This is a deluxe red leather presentation hardcover edition of Nationalsozialistischer Kampf gegen das Verbrechertum (The National Socialist Battle against Criminality) written, autographed and dated by General der Polizei Kurt Daluege in 1936.
Daluege was a Civil Engineer, a Nazi Party delegate in the Prussian State Parliament, a member of the Parliament of Nazi Germany, Head of the SS of Northern Germany (Himmler was the Head of the SS of Southern Germany), and in 1936 Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler appointed Daluege as Chief of the uniformed police in Nazi Germany, the Ordnungspolizei (Orpo). After Reinhard Heydrich's assassination in Prague in May 1942, Daluege also took over as Acting Reichsprotector of Bohemia and Moravia and by 1943 he had risen to the rank of SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer und Generaloberst der Polizei.
The book starts with a chapter about the serious crime problem that existed in Weimar Germany and the approach taken by the Nazi Police to reduce criminality. There are statistics from the years 1926 up to when the National Socialist were elected to power in Germany and the success of the police since 1933. The approach to the crime clean-up in Germany is described as is dealing with Berufsverbrecher or career criminals, new preventive police measures and their results. Success is shown in statistics and schematics. There are also chapters about murders in Nazi Germany, regular non-violent thieves and their crimes, how to protect ones children, how women can protect themselves against crime, etc.
This is a rare Third Reich Nazi Police photo book, with the autograph of the Police General and author at a price that is less than a good Kurt Daluege autograph alone!
It is in very nice used condition but has the word WITHDRAWN stamped on the gold page edging at the top of the book suggesting that it was once part of the collection of a library somewhere. The spine is tight but the top and bottom inch is cracked along both front and back covers.
This rare autographed Kurt Daluege Nazi police book is **SOLD**.
