Most people with an interest in Third Reich German history are familiar with the 1933 UFA film Hitlerjunge Quex. The movie was based on the real story of the life of Herbert 'Quex' Norkus, a Hitler Youth boy who died after being beaten up by Communist teenagers in the streets of Berlin in January 1932. The movie was made with the permission of Hitler Youth Leader Baldur von Schirach (who also wrote the lyrics for the Hitler Youth marching song Unsere Fahne flattert uns voran).
Offered for sale on this USMBOOKS web page is the book Herbert Norkus - Die Hitlerjungen vom Beusselkietz. The book has a foreword by Baldur von Schirach, 19 original photos, and information author Arnold Littmann collected about the life of Hitler Youth member Herbert Norkus by interviewing Norkus' family and using information from the diary of Kameradschaftsführer Gerd Mondt.
The rare 5-1/2 x 8-1/4 inch, 158 page book was published by Traditions-Verlag Kolk & Co. Berlin and Steuben-Verlag of Berlin holds the copyright dated 1934. It contains photos of the street where Norkus was murdered, his grave, Hitler Youth and other pins and HJ posters, groups of HJ boys, anti-HJ rally posters, etc.
In very good used condition with the names of two previous owners (Christmas 1938 and Christmas 1942) written on the front fly leaf.
