Geflügelte Worte (Memorable Words) is subtitled “A Chat about Pilot Language, Stunt Flying and Airplane Engines”. The book is a rare example of what may very well be the only aviation book written before the end of WW2 by Gerhard Fieseler, World War I pilot, internationally famous 1930s daredevil stunt pilot, designer of the Fieseler Storch, airplane manufacturer, and founder of Gerhard Fieseler Werke in Kassel, Germany.

The 4-1/2 x 6-5/8 inch heavily illustrated softcover publication has a foreword by Gerd von Hoeppner who was the Vice-President of the Aero-Clubs of Germany and it was published in cooperation with Deutschen Vacuum Öl AG Hamburg, the company that produced Gargoyle Mobiloel. The 50-page book does not have a publication date, but we are certain it dates to the first part of the 1930s.

Chapters cover important advances in aviation since World War I, aviation records and stunt flying feats, illustrated explanations of stunts, as well as airplane engines and their miscellaneous components.

The the World War I flying ace and aerial aerobatic champion lived to be 91 years old and wrote several books after the end of World War II, but Geflügelte Worte (literally "Winged Words") is a rare original from the 1930s.

This rare 90+ year old illustrated German aviation book by Fieseler Fi156 Storch inventor and aviation genius Gerhard Fieseler is in very nice, little-used condition and has no odor. Very hard to find!
