This is a heavily illustrated German language tourist information booklet for visitors to the Italian port city of Genoa. It is the Edizione Tedesca, or German edition, published by E.N.I.T. (Ente Nazionale Industrie Turistiche, Italy’s National Tourist Office) in Italy in 1937 (or fascist year XVI, the 16th year of Fascist rule in Italy).
The 7-1/2 x 9-3/8 inch, 36 page tourist brochure has information about history, sights, climate, public transportation, the harbor, art and museums, sport facilities, etc. The glossy pages have photos of the Piazzale della Vittoria and its war memorial, the San Lorenzo cathedral, Castello d’Albertis, the seaside promenade, harbor, Palazzo Doria, Piazza Corvetto, and other well-known tourist attractions in Genoa.
Printed in Milan, Italy this original 85 year old travel brochure is in very nice condition. There is no writing in it, and the color cover is bright. No odor. Quite a few spelling errors or typos in the Italian efforts to put the text and captions in German!
