This is a nice example of the 5th Expanded 1941 Edition of the Nazi photo history book Deutsches Volk - Deutsche Heimat (German People and German Homeland) as published by Deutscher Volksverlag in München.
Beginning with earth and water and the upthrust of the Alps in central Europe, this rare 8-1/4 x 9 inch, 248-page book continues with photos and excellent captions of things like a 2000 year old German swastika ornament, the crown of the First Reich, the Bamberger Reiter (Knight), Ute of Naumburg, the Braunschweig lion, etc. It continues in the Nazi era with photos of people, castles and residences, farm land, rivers and new freeways.
Those pictures in general lead up to Third Reich pictures of things like the Brandenburg Gate, Tannenberg National Memorial, mines, modern Nazi factories, harbors, zeppelins, aircraft, the Schlageter memorial, the House of German Art in Munich, the Nazi buildings and Honor temples on the Königsplatz in Munich, facilities at the Nazi Party Day Grounds in Nuremberg, the Air Ministry in Berlin, Ordensburgen, the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, enormous Reichsautobahn bridges, the drainage of low lands, Hitler Youth camp-outs, etc., etc.
This is Volume I of Deutsches Volk - Deutsche Heimat in very nice used condition. All full-page pictures!
