This is a very nice example of the rare 9-1/2 x 12-1/2 inch, 100 page collector cigarette card album Der Staat der Arbeit und des Friedens - Ein Jahr Regierung Adolf Hitler (The Land of Labor and Peace - One Year of Hitler Government) as published by Cigaretten Bilderdienst of Altona-Bahrenfeld late in 1934.

Following a beautiful full-page portrait of Adolf Hitler and a foreword by Baldur von Schirach, the book and its 320 color pictures carefully document all the successes and no failures of the Hitler regime in its first year as the government of the country of Germany.

It is wonderful assortment of pictures of all the members of the high leadership of the NSDAP from Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler and Air Minister Hermann Göring, SA Stabchef Viktor Lutze, Sepp Dietrich, Professor Fritz Todt, Joseph Goebbels, to Kriegsmarine Admiral Raeder. The are pictures of SA and SS formations.

There are several pictures devoted to the upcoming 1936 Olympic Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Berlin, the Reichsautobahn, several pages on the boys and girls of the Hitler Youth, pages on agricultural and construction successes, four pages with coverage of the 1933 Reichsparteitag and many pages on the strengthening and consolidation of power in the hands of the Nazi Party.

This fine Third Reich cigarette card album contains photos by Heinrich Hoffmann, as well as striking pen and ink illustrations by SA-Sturmfürher Leopold of Berlin.

Der Staat der Arbeit und des Friedens is Part II of the Nazi Party’s first cigarette card propaganda album Kampf um’s Dritte Reich. Complete and in very nice used condition, no odor.
