The Westfälische Landeszeitung – Rote Erde was the official Nazi Party newspaper published by NSDAP Gau Westfalen-Süd, headquartered in Bochum. It was published daily from 30 January 1934 - 22 April 1945. This is a very rare, extremely historic, very anti-Jewish August-September 1935 supplement to the WLZ-Rote Erde dating to the time of Die Nürnberger Gesetze or Nuremberg Laws that were enacted by the Reichstag (parliament) on 15 September 1935.

The new Nuremberg race laws excluded German Jews from German citizenship and prohibited them from marrying or having sexual relations with persons of "German or related blood." Ancillary ordinances to the laws disenfranchised Jews and deprived them of most political rights. This Nazi newspaper supplement is full of anti-Jewish content - not for the faint of heart!

Above the fold on the 15-½ x 20-¾ inch front page of this Nazi newspaper supplement is Adolf Hitler's take on race, and the importance of keeping German blood pure and free of non-aryan influence, quoted from Mein Kampf.

Below the fold is Julius Streicher's view on the Judenfrage or Jewish Question dated August 1935. This newspaper supplement also contains extremely anti-Jewish articles written by Dr. Robert Ley with the title "The German Worker and The Jew" and others called "The Jew in Music", "The Jew in Trade", "The Jew and the Law", "Houston Stewart Chamberlain about the Jews" and "Judas' Road to Germany". There is even an article by Richard Wagner called Kunst und Judentum as well as photos showing Jews at their worst.

This rare original 24-page newspaper is in good but normal brittle condition for a 85 year old newspapers. It may be unique and could still be saved with proper conservation such as laminating. The front page is torn in two pieces along the fold and the top of the second page is missing, but it is an extremely historic Third Reich newspaper and belongs in a museum.

There is a large advertisement by the Bund National-Socialistischer Deutscher Juristen (National-Socialist League of German Lawyers ) that says, "The Jew has no business either before or behind the bench.  Just as his ability to say anything about German law must be taken from him, so must also the right to represent a German."

Another ad says, "Whether healthy or sick, your trust belongs to the German doctor and not to the alien Jews!" and the Dortmund Craft Trades Guild warned the readers to "Patronize the craftsman! Avoid the Jew and the department store!"

There is additional advertising by the NS-Lehrerbund Dortmund, Aryan fashion and shoe retailers, furniture stores, bicycle and motorcycle shops, stores selling SA gear, HANOMAG, Agfa, etc.
