Wehrmacht in the Warsaw ghetto
This rare 7-¾ x 10-¼ inch, 120+ page hardcover book was published by Hermann Luchterhand Verlag of Neuwied in August of 1960. It is in very nice condition.
Interior Minister and Head of the German Police, Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler personally put SS- und Polizeiführer im Distrikt Warschau, SS-Brigadeführer Jürgen Stroop in charge of the SS, Police and Wehrmacht troops sent to Warsaw to end the uprising in the Jewish Ghetto between 19 April and 16 May 1943. Stroop wrote very detailed daily reports of the progress to the Head of the SS and Police in Krakau, SS-Obergruppenführer Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger. A copy of all of Stroop's reports on the Ghettoaktion was sent to Himmler after the uprising was over and this file became known as the Stroop-Bericht.
Jewish roundup in Warsaw Ghetto 1943

This rare, very informative German language book contains facsimiles of those daily reports as well as photos that SS- und Polizeiführer im Distrikt Warschau Stroop sent to Oberbefehlshaber der SS und Polizei in Krakau, SS-Obergruppenführer und General der Polizei Krüger. The Stroop-Bericht, Stroop's own reports were used as evidence by the Americans at the International Military Trials in Nürnberg in 1947 and by Polish prosecutors during Stroop's subsequent trial in Poland in 1951.

After a foreword by Andrzej Wirth explaining the content of this International Military Trials Nürnberg Exhibit U.S.A. book, there is a 5-page list with the names of the members of the SS and Police who were killed or wounded, "in the battle for the elimination of Jews and bandits in the former Jewish district of Warsaw." This is followed by a short explanation of the long history of the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw and the Nazi plan to end the uprising - HEAVY FORCE!
Captured Rabbis
The book continues with facsimiles of 31 of Stroop's very detailed daily reports dated between 20 April and 24 May 1943: number of German troops in action on any particular day, how many were wounded, how many Jews were rounded up and shot, weapons found and confiscated, even a visit by Head of the SS and Police in Krakau, SS-Obergruppenführer Krüger was noted on 2 May 1943.  Stroop's recap dated 24 May 1943 has total numbers of German wounded and deaths, a list of weapons, money, jewelry and horses confiscated in the Jewish Ghetto of Warsaw during the siege, as well as a special mention of the burning down of the Synagogue.

Untermensch - Subhumans
The 1943 photographs with German captions were used as evidence in the Polish trial against Stroop and have Polish archival rubber stamps under them. They show Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto being rounded up by the Wehrmacht and Nazi Policemen - men, women and children of every age, healthy ones and deformed ones. There are photos of the burned-out building that once housed the Judenrat, Jews being shot, their houses and personal belongings being burned, hiding places discovered by the Nazis, etc. There is a photo of SS-Brigadeführer Stroop wearing a Nazi field cap as well.
