NAZI AUTOBAHN CIGARETTE CASE
Within a couple of years after it was begun in 1933, the German Reichsautobahn was already one of the wonders of the modern era. On a scale much grander than the pyramids of Egypt, Hitler’s Reichsautobahn or National Freeway was both a public works project and the beginning of the modernization of old time Germany.
The map has a sidebar at the right differentiating those sections of the Autobahn in use, under construction and in the planning stages.
The 3-1/8 x 4-1/4 inch metal cigarette case we offer here is about 3/8 inch thick. It opens with a spring-loaded catch and on one side there is an elestic strap to retain the cigarettes placed in it. The entire front of the case depicts a map of Germany (still separated by the Polish Corridor but including the western part of the former Czechoslovakia) showing the entire Reichsautobahn system as of about the fall of 1938.
A wonderful piece of rare Reichsautobahn memorabilia in very good condition.
