Neustadt an der Weinstraße is a picturesque town in Rhineland-Palatinate. Archaeological finds indicate that Celts used to live in the area of the present town, which was granted town rights in the year 1275. Neustadt's role during the Nazi era began in 1927 when it became the seat of the Gauleiter for the Nazi Party. Josef Bürckel was the Gauleiter.

For sale on this USMBOOKS web page are TWO absolutely original piece of unused Third Reich Nazi Party stationery from NSDAP Gau Westmark, an administrative district of the Nazi Party in southwestern Germany. Both pieces were recently purchased from the estate of a World War II veteran and have never been owned by a militaria dealer, and have never been at a MAX Show or other militaria show.

The original red-bordered Nazi Party Schnellbrief or Urgent Directive measures 150 x 210 mm (5-7/8 x 8-1/4 inch) and has address, telephone and bank information at the top, opening hours of the NSDAP Gauleitung office on Straße der 13. Januar number 22 in Neustadt as well as the name of the National Socialist newspaper of the Gau. It was never used.

The second piece of Nazi Party stationery is from the desk of the Gauschatzmeister or Treasurer of NSDAP Gau Westmark. It is also in unused condition and also measures 150 x 210 mm (5-7/8 x 8-1/4 inch).

At the bottom of both pieces is an interesting note that these important blank forms were to be used only for to-the-point information. It translates as “polite forms of address to be omitted with all official Party correspondence.”

Both pieces of Gau Westmark stationery are in very nice, unused condition and absolutely original to the Third Reich in Hitler’s Germany.
