RARE ORIGINAL 1941 NAZI DDAC BORDBUCH OR LOG BOOK |
This is an original 4-1/2 x 6-7/8 inch, 160 page hardcover Third Reich automobile Bordbuch or log book for the year 1941 published by Der Deutsche Automobil Club (DDAC or The German Automobile Club) in Berlin in December 1940.
This log book is not filled out, the first page does not have an owner’s name and address, car license plate or DDAC membership number. Page six which has space for car details (manufacturer, engine and chassis number, weight, etc.) is also blank. The accident information spaces are also blank on this page.

Left, Adolf Hitler's Germany was at its largest size when this DDAC car log book was printed. It included the former Austria, Sudetenland, Bohemia and Moravia, Danzig, Provinces in Belgium, etc.
This 85 year old DDAC car owner log book also has chapters with information on the location of DDAC offices all over Greater Germany, DDAC offices that were able to issue visas for car travel outside Großdeutschland (limited due to the war!), military and paramilitary license plate abbreviations, city and Nazi Reichsgau license plate abbreviations (including the Generalgouvernement), tips on saving gasoline usage, as well as the top ten list of things to do in case of a traffic accident.
The Fahrten-Nachweis or trip record section with space for destinations, mileage driven, time spent on the road, has no entries. The Ausgaben-Verrechnung, the space to write down expenses for gas and repairs, is also blank. There are also pages with spaces to record car service (per month and year) and tables showing mileage depending on driving speed. Inside the back cover is a two-sided fold-out calendar for 1941 and 1942.
While this original World War II DDAC-Bordbuch was never filled out, somebody did tear out the 10 or blank pages for Notizen or notes. The pencil is also missing, but any small golf pencil will fit in the loop on the top edge of the back cover.
This was the last edition published during the Third Reich and would be the ideal DDAC Bordbuch for anybody who owns an old German car!
