Deutsches Wollen (The German Will) was a monthly magazine published by the NSDAP Auslandsorganisation or AO, an organization created by Hitler to spread the Nazi gospel to and through foreign Germans and ethnic Germans living outside Grossdeutschland. The Auslands-Organisation of the Nazi Party was equivalent on a structural basis with any and all of the 42 Gaue (or "States") in Third Reich Germany. It actually was the 43rd Gau with headquarters in Stuttgart and under the direct control of Auslands-Organisation Gauleiter E.W. Bohle.

Virtually all of the publications of the Auslands-Organisation der NSDAP are rare today because it was considered a particularly dangerous entity by the Allied de-Nazification teams that attempted to purge defeated Germany of Nazi influences in 1945.
This is an examples of Deutsches Wollen - Aus dem Kriegstagebuch der Landesgruppe Griechenland, covering the Nazi Wehrmacht invasion and occupation of Greece from July 1941. The 8-¼ x 11-¾ inch magazine contains superb photos by SS and war correspondent photos of Gebirgsjäger in action, battle damage, Generalfeldmarschal List, Greek and British POWs, Wehrmacht vehicles at the Acropolis and Luftwaffe airplanes over Athens, the Nazi swastika flag at the German Embassy in Athens, Generalfeldmarschall von Brauschitsch visiting the Acropolis with AO Landesgruppenleiter Griechenland Dr. Walter Wrede (Wrede had been a teacher in Greece in the 1920s), etc.
This issue of Deutsches Wollen also contains articles about AO Homes in Palermo, the AO in Bulgaria, a visit by AO Gauleiter Bohle to Croatia, and advertising by Siemens, Deutsche Reichspost, Sager & Woerner, the Bavaria Brewery, Agfa, Gustloff-Werke, Wanderer-Werke, Karstadt, Commerzbank, and many manufacturing companies.
