This fine Third Reich photo book was assembled especially for tourists visiting the country of Germany for the 1936 Olympic Winter and Summer Games. The introduction contains a hearty welcome and mentions German hospitality, the beauty of the country and recent accomplishments of the new National Socialist government of Adolf Hitler.

The photos in this hard bound linen covered book show Germany at its best: beautiful alpine scenery, Aryan children, clean cities with historic buildings, rural life contrasted with modern cities. A short history mentions the turmoil of the post-World War I era and the horrible unemployment problems and related street terror caused by Communists.

Other photographs show a giant Hitler bust being sculpted, the House of German Art in Munich, German workers aboard a KdF ship, National Socialist welfare projects to help our the poor, mothers and children, etc.

The book ends with the message that Germany can only flourish in time of peace and therefore needs political soldiers to ward off unrest and the Bolshevic world revolution. The last photo in the book is a full-page portrait of Adolf Hitler by Heinrich Hoffmann.

This section is followed by all the accomplishments of Adolf Hitler since 1933: new factories, happy workers of the DAF or Nazi Labor Service, new homes for German citizens and many new government building projects. There are great pictures of colossal Nazi architecture, Zeppelins, the Adolf-Hitler-Bridge over the Rhine River at Krefeld, the Nazi Honor Temple in Munich, the Reichsautobahn, new construction at the Nazi Party Day Grounds in Nuremberg, the Ordensburg Vogelsang in the Eifel region, and of course, many of the new sport venues built for the Olympics in Berlin.
As mentioned above, there are 96 pages of mostly pictures in this rare 86 year old German language book GERMANY - THE OLYMPIC YEAR1936. In very nice used condition with minor wear to the spine. No odor. The name of a previous owner is neatly written on the front flyleaf.

Shown left is the GERMAN language hardcover version of the same book shown and described above. It is identical in text and photo content, only the language is different.

This example of DEUTSCHLAND OLYMPIA-JAHR 1936 is complete and in very nice, little used condition. It has no writing and no offensive odor.
