After a foreword of three “handwritten” pages by Frankenführer Julius Streicher the following chapters explain the significance of the [National Socialist] revolution, the role of the new Nazi government and citizens of Nazi Germany in rebuilding the nation, the Nazi battle against communism, freedom and a higher standard of living for German laborers, Jews and the justice system, the German Labor Front and Labor Service (DAF and RAD), the new German nation without a class system, dismantling the Treaty of Versailles, the role of the church in Nazi Germany, the National Socialist philosophy (Weltanschauung), German culture and art in Nazi Germany, the German economy (the “destiny of Germany”), 9 November 1933 (the first Nazi Putsch commemoration after the National Socialists had been elected to power), the SA and the Nazi Party, the WHW charity organization, and the Chronology of Nazi Year One (1933).

There are excerpts from important speeches by Adolf Hitler, Dr. Joseph Goebbels (about the worldwide Jewish Boycott of Germany), President Paul von Hindenburg, Hermann Göring, Dr. Hans Frank, Alfred Rosenberg, Dr. Wilhelm Frick, Rudolf Hess, Hanns Oberlindober (leader of the Nazi Party Government Office for War Victims and the NSKOV), Gunter d’Alquen (Chief Editor of the SS newspaper, Das Schwarze Korps), even German industrialist Krupp von Bohlen-Halbach.

This is a rare HALF-LEATHER FIRST EDITION of the nearly 7 pound heavily illustrated hardcover book 1933 Das Jahr der Deutschen or The Year of the Germans published by order of Frankenführer Julius Streicher in 1934. The 9 x 11-½ inch, 1-½ inch thick book has 512 glossy pages, a well-written text and amazing photo content!

This fine First Edition of 1933 Das Jahr der Deutschen was published by Vaterländischer Verlag C. A. Weller of Berlin in 1934. While similar in looks to the Streicher Nazi Party Days (Reichstagung) annuals, this is not one of them. This is a completely different book.

The huge 89 year old Nazi photo book is in very good lightly-used condition. The gold blocking on the embossed maroon leather spine has faded slightly and we show a close-up picture of the embossed wreath logo on the front cover (left) to show its condition perfectly. The remarkable 6+ pound photo book has a tight spine and no odor.

The photo content in 1933 Das Jahr der Deutschen is amazing and includes many pictures not found in other Third Reich books.

They include SA troops and rare SA flags, Jungmädel and BdM girls and a Jungvolk rally in Berlin, the burned out Reichstag building, Potsdam Day, police parades, airplanes participating in the Deutschlandflug, Nazi weddings and funerals, Gautag der NSDAP in Weimar, SA sport events, men and motorcycles of the SS Gruppe Ost, Hitler Youth leader Baldur von Schirach, gatherings of “Stahlhelm” war veterans, 1933 Day of Labor at Tempelhof Air Field, Justice Minister Hanns Kerrl, Hermann Göring during the baptism of the airplane “Generalfeldmarschall von Hindenburg” at Tempelhof, Tannenberg Memorial, the 1933 Nazi Party Days in Nuremberg, the start of construction of the Reichsautobahn, Generalfeldmarschall von Mackensen and Prince August Wilhelm, the building of a swimming pool at Konzentrationslager Dachau and prisoners and guards at KZ Oranienburg (below), .....

There is a rare photo of SS General Sepp Dietrich in civilian clothes seated in between Mrs. Emmy Göring and Mrs. Magda Goebbels in front of Adolf Hitler and a smiling Dr. Joseph Goebbels 9shown right), Reichssportführer Hans von Tschammer und Osten in conversation with a casually dressed Prince August Wilhelm, and even the crypt of Friedrich the Great in Potsdam.
