This is really quite a striking example of the die-maker’s art. It is a 35 x 45 mm (1-3/8 x 1-3/4 inch) silver plated, die struck solid copper brooch or “Tag pin” featuring Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler’s Wewelsburg Castle and a Nazi flag above the word WEWELSBURG. Below the word WEWELSBURG there are oak leaves surrounding a skull and bones above the runic symbol of the Schutzstaffeln (SS or Protective Squads).
The back is flat with a simple safety pin soldered above the raised letters Ges. Gesch. We brought a small quantity of these back from Europe a few years ago and offer them here as modern reproductions, not as original Third Reich material. Thus, the inexpensive price |
