Standard Luftbildkarte 27 Vorpommern, Nazi color map
Nazi Standard Oil map, Peenemünde, KdF-Seebad, Peenemünde, Pasewalk, Stettin
Nazi Esso map Vorpommern, Nazi Germany
ESSO Luftbildkarte, Deutsch-Amerikanische Petroleum-Gesellschaft
The back has a map of downtown Stettin (the capital of Pomerania with approximately 270,000 inhabitants) and the island of Rügen, as well as historical information on the area, its seaside resorts, people, trade, climate, etc. It also has advertising for services provided to motorists at “typical red” Standard-Tankstellen, gas stations operated by the Deutsch-Amerikanische Petroleum Gesellschaft, DAPAG or German-American Gasoline Company, the German name for Standard Oil Company in Nazi Germany.

This Nazi color map was designed and printed by Bruckmann AG of Munich, known for publishing many editions of Mein Kampf and other well-known Third Reich books. It is undated but we suspect it was produced around 1936. It is in nice used (but not abused) condition - no tape, no writing, no odor.
This is an original two-sided Third Reich Standard Oil color map of Vorpommern, the area northeast of Berlin on the Baltic coast that includes cities and towns such as Neubrandenburg, Greifswald, Swinemünde, Prenzlau, Pasewalk, Stettin, Stargard, Treptow and Peenemünde, where in 1937 the German Army Research Center (Heeresversuchsanstalt Peenemünde) was founded and Wernher von Braun developed and tested V1 and V2 rockets.

The map also includes Rügen, Germany’s largest island. Between 1936 and 1939 the famous KdF-Seebad, the enormous “Strength through Joy” seaside resort, was built on the east side of the island to provide affordable holidays for German working class vacationers.
This 4-3/8 x 9-½ inch Standard Luftbildkarte 27 unfolds to 17-½ x 19 inches and the scale is 1:500.000 meaning 1 centimeter equals only 5 kilometers. It shows finished stretches of the Reichsautobahn and parts of the Nazi freeway system still under construction, as well as the usual highways and railroads.

Have a look at other Nazi era maps for sale on USMBOOKS.com as well as a heavily illustrated unused 1938 Standard Oil almanac-style glovebox book for motorists full of driving and maintenance tips and Third Reich advertising for Standard Oil products.  We are happy to combine shipping of multiple purchases!
