Every officer and man in the Luftwaffe (Air Force) of Third Reich Germany had a Soldbuch (Pay Book and Personal Identity Document) and because they were subject to hard service in a tunic pocket under all sorts of circumstances (including combat), it was common for soldiers to buy protective covers for them.

The item we offer here is a brand-new-old-stock 6-3/8 x 8-3/4 inch protective cover for a Luftwaffe Soldbuch. It consists of heavy enameled blue cloth sewed to reddish moiré lining with two plastic inserts, behind which the Soldbuch is to be inserted. On the front cover there is a Luftwaffe eagle and swastika above the lettering “Soldbuch W.L.” (Pay Book Wehrmacht Luftwaffe) in silver blocking.

The item we offer here is a used 6 x 8-1/2 inch protective cover for an Army Soldbuch. It consists of a piece of olive green imitation leather laminated to a grey parchment-like lining with a pocket in front in to which the Soldbuch is to be inserted. On the front cover there is an Army eagle and swastika above the lettering “Soldbuch” (Pay Book) in silver blocking.
