Reichsleiter von Schirach writes to Reichsmarschall Göring
On 6 March 1942 Reichsleiter der NSDAP and Reichsstatthalter in Wien Baldur von Schirach wrote a letter to Reichsmarschall des Großdeutschen Reiches Hermann Göring regarding the salary of an actress, Ebba Johannsen. This is Von Schirch’s actual copy of that letter on an embossed Reichsleiter letterhead, and bearing Von Schirach’s initials on page 2 in his own hand.

Reichsleiter der NSDAP and Reichsstatthalter in Wien Baldur von Schirach
Baldur von Schirach reported in this letter to Reichsmarschall Göring that Frau Johannsen had personally come to see him regarding back-salary owed to her as a result of a letter she had received from Berlin. Von Schirach further stated that on 18 February he personally wrote on the letter from Berlin that she should receive her full salary, as she should be reimbursed for wages withheld. He further mentioned that he sent a telegram to Berlin regarding his decision about Frau Johannsen’s wages.

In the last paragraph of this letter Von Schirach assured Hermann Göring that he would deal in the same appropriate manner with similar cases concerning the Wiener Staatstheater (Vienna State Theater). He then signed off with sincere greetings and “Heil Hitler”. BvS

Interesting Third Reich correspondence between Nazi officials at the highest level, from the collection of authors Ray & Josephine Cowdery. The letter comes with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.
