When the Anschluss took place in March 1938, Germany gained a new metropolis - Wien or Vienna as it is called by English speakers, the second largest city in the Grossdeutschland of Adolf Hitler.
The 9 x 12 inch, 24 page well-illustrated magazines or tabloids we offer here bear a banner that says “RUNDPOST - the German Community Paper” and are among the very first all-Nazi mass-circulation publications printed in the Austrian lands that had been incorporated into the Reich.

RUNDPOST LOT A consists of magazines dated 30 March, 23 April, 30 April and 21 May 1938. The one dated 30 March is Issue 2, the second issue printed. As can be expected from the publication dates, the magazines are filled with articles, photos and features about the boy (Austria) returning home to his mother (Germany), Hitler, the lies being told in the world press abou the Anschluß, the exhibition of Leni Riefenstahl films in Wien, the story of Leni Riefenstahl’s life, Jews who manipulate the government and clergy being crushed by a swastika, Richard Wagner, the latest films, an advertising from “Aryan companies”.
