This Reibert 1 / Der Dienstunterricht im Heere Ausgabe für Schützen der Schützenkompanie manual provides a very complete view, not only of the concept of soldiering in the German Army during the Third Reich, but also a very comprehensive examination of the information anyone needed to know to serve in combat in a light infantry unit.

A rare original Third Reich era book with hundreds of illustrations, complete and in nice used condition.   The original owner of this book was Hauptmann der Schutzpolizei Nachtwey and his stamp is on the front cover, inside the front cover, on the title page and his ink signature is above the foreword as well.

This rare very heavily illustrated 5-1/2 x 8 inch, 336 page, 1940 edition manual has over 500 illustrations in the text of things like visor caps, uniforms, shoulder boards, collar tabs, proficiency badges, sword and bayonet knots, insignia, medals, flags, etc., etc. Of course it also contains specific information for the comprehensive training of rifle company troops.

This is a nice used original example of book 1 of the series of Wehrmacht service manuals published by E.S. Mittler & Sohn of Berlin for use by soldiers of the German Armed Forces during the Third Reich and World War II. It is the 12th updated edition of Reibert 1 / Der Dienstunterricht im Heere Ausgabe für Schützen der Schützenkompanie, or edition for Riflemen in an Infantry Rifle Company.

In the front of the book there are portraits of Adolf Hitler (Oberste Befehlshaber der deutschen Wehrmacht) as well as the Nazi generals in charge of the Luftwaffe (Hermann Göring), Army (von Brauchitsch), Navy (Raeder) and Wehrmacht in general (Keitel).
