| This is an absolutely authentic example of an extremely rare 3-7/8 x 5-5/8 inch Nazi Guard Ausweis or identity document number 525 from the infamous Frauen Konzentrationslager Ravensbrück (FKLR or Women’s Concentration Camp Ravensbrück) at Ravensbrück west of Berlin, Germany. Women from all over the Reich and Nazi occupied territories, including many of the women from the Czech village of Lidice were sent to Ravensbrück and many never returned. The camp was established by the SS in the autumn of 1938 and during its existence had a population from 10,000 to 42,000 women prisoners and their children. It was the only concentration camp for females but was run by male SS personnel assisted by females. In all about 132,000 people were imprisoned at Ravensbrück and it is estimated that about 90,000 died there. |

| The document we offer for sale is on heavy gray cardstock and in the name of Fraulein Marianne M*****. It bears her signature, as well as the pen and ink signature of the SS-Hauptsturmführer and Lagerkommandant and the Concentration Camp stamp over Marianne’s picture. On the back side there are instructions for contacting the Camp Commandant (including phone number) if anything should happen to the person shown on the front side. The bright red spots on our scans of this Ausweis were added by us and do NOT appear on the actual identity document. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
