This simple, but rare Deutsches Reich Postausweiskarte or Third Reich German Postal Identity Card is a 4-1/8 x 6 inch (folds to 2-7/8 x 4-1/8 inch) Ausweis that belonged to 45 year old Philipp Steinle, a salesman from Heidelberg. It was issued on 15 June 1943and was valid until 14 June 1946.

Like all Third Reich Postausweise, this one is in the German and French language and made from card stock by a company in Zürich, Switzerland called Orell Füssli.

On the back (panel 4) the description of the owner states that Steinle was born on 4 January 1901 at Flape in Westfalen, that he had bleu-grey eyes, graying hair and 'fresh' face coloring.

This Nazi postal ID number 19 is complete with the original ID photo of Philipp Steinle on panel 2. It has the correct rubber stamps from Postamt Heidelberg 1, as well as a canceled green Adolf Hitler stamp glued over the bottom edge of the photo, as all Nazi postal IDs should have.

Very good used condition exactly as shown.
