This 6-1/4 x 9 inch, 208 page blue linen hardcover FIRST EDITION 164 photo book by Paul Schultze-Naumburg was published by J.F. Lehmanns Verlag in Munich in 1937, is full of examples of "Nordic Beauty". According to information on the dust jacket, the purpose of this book is "explaining the meaning of Nordic Beauty in photos and art."
The book starts with an Adolf Hitler quotation from his book Mein Kampf, about the importance of Nordic Beauty to the German Nation, and that it will help to improve the strength of the country.
There are chapters called "The Meaning of Beauty", "The Nordic Face", "The Nordic Body", "Studying [the Nordic Ideal] in the Past and Present", etc., all accompanied by clear, sharp photographs on the subject. The Nordic ideal in paintings and sculptures, photo examples of different Nordic features, the right dimensions, and several examples of degenerate art compared with Germanic art.
