RARE ORIGINAL THIRD REICH GERMAN TRAVEL GUIDEBOOKS
Nazi travel guide books
Most book collectors will know that it is easy to find and buy travel guidebooks for European destinations for years before 1933 and after 1945. Finding original Third Reich and World War II editions in good condition for a reasonable price in the German language is difficult, and in the English language it is becoming nearly impossible.

On this USMBOOKS web page we offer the web's largest selection of rare original Third Reich Reiseführer or travel guides. There are rare examples in German and in the English language and all are individually priced.

This is a very rare original 1944 Grieben Reiseführer or travel guidebook for Prague (Praha in Czech and Prag in German) and the surrounding area with a picture of the Moldau or Vltava river and Hradcany Castle on the cover.
The 4 x 5-7/8 inch, 192-page Third Reich softcover German language guidebook was printed by Grieben in Berlin in 1944 and contains a map of Germany showing the location of Prague, information about public transportation, lodging, restaurants, cafés, wine bars, breweries, theaters, museums, churches, historical information, day trips from Prague as well as the best ever 17x23 inch fold-out city map inside the back cover.

This was the last tourist guide Grieben printed for Prag during the Third Reich and the big map is the only one we have ever seen with ALL street names updated in German to 1944!

The important address section includes contact information for SS-Standortskommandantur and other SS facilities, die Wehrmacht and Nazi Party offices as well as the DDAC.
The pull-out Sucher or "Map Searcher" is still inserted in a special slot next to the map inside the back cover. This accessory, to make it easier to read the map, is usually missing from old guidebooks like this one. Very good, little used condition and a treasure trove of information for Third Reich and Prag historians and collectors. Rare!
