A nice high-quality WKC model 1059 Nazi Officer sword in very good used condition, exactly as shown.

This is as nice an original Third Reich example of a WKC Wehrmacht Officer's sword or saber as we have come across in a very long time and it is directly from the estate of the American veteran who brought it from Germany at the end of World War II. It has never been in the hands of one of the big show dealers, has never been to a MAX Show and it has never been messed with, doctored up or embellished. We won't put you through all the hokum and voodoo that the big internet edged weapons dealers do about "we like the lion's head" or "pinnacle of the blade maker's art". We will just tell you what it is, and you can buy it just the way we bought it which is an enormous rarity in Third Reich militaria today.

Unlike the much inferior swords with gilded aluminum fittings that some Solingen sword makers produced during the Third Reich, this one has fittings made from the finest brass or bronze materials, gilded as usual and attached to a high quality blade and fitted with a flawless black grip with multiple strands of gold colored wire, and featuring ruby glass eyes in the head of lion. There is some gold finish still to be found in the background of the details. In addition to the beautiful WKC Model 1059 scrolling on the hand guard and back strap, the sword features a Wehrmacht style spread eagle on the obverse langet, a blank langet on the back side for a monogram, a space for a monogram on the back strap and a hand-detailed lion's head.

The WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Compagnie) knight's helmet logo is beautifully stamped on the excellent plain plated 34 inch blade under the obverse langet. The blade is in very nice condition with no nicks or even any scabbard wear to speak of. The leather scabbard pad on the blade is the original and in good condition. The 35 inch scabbard still has about 85% of its original black paint, and its original throat and screws.
