This is a very nice used example of the hard-to-find 4-3/4 x 6-1/4 inch, 88 page softcover book of lyrics for the very best of popular songs sung in public places in Germany during the Third Reich. Deutsche Heimat
contains lyrics to dozens and dozens of popular drinking songs, and was published by B. Schott's Söhne of Mainz and Leipzig, probably in about 1938.
One of the most unusual aspects of the book is that it bears the stamp of Schott's & Co. Ltd. in London on the title page and a sticker from Foyles Bookstore at Charing Cross Road in London!
The back cover also contains advertising for the Hitler Youth Sings
, Neues Deutschland
and other excellent songbooks of the Third Reich period.
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FOLK SONGS, HIKING SONGS AND STUDENT SONGS IN GERMAN, SOLD IN ENGLAND!
