The man who conducts the band wears a Wehrmacht officer's sword while one of the central figures in the band carries a Glockenspiel with an eagle on a swastika perched on the top. All the band members wear typical German uniforms of the period.
One of the most interesting photos shows members surrounding a pony pulling a giant drum on a small cart. The pony is covered with a saddle blanket with the initial W for Wachtbattalion Wien. Five of the photos have straight edges and numbers on them while the rest have deckle edges. They came together as a set and that's the way we are selling them.
This is a splendid set of photographs especially for anyone with an interest in German military marching bands of the period and their equipment.
