This is a very nice used example of the rare 7-5/8 x 10-1/2 inch, 120 or so page (unnumbered) very heavily illustrated soft cover book Das Gesicht des deutschen Soldaten (The Faces of German Soldiers) as published by Zeitgeschichte Verlag in Berlin (the same publisher that published the Heinrich Hoffmann Nazi photo books) for the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (OKW) in 1943.

Almost every page in this book is a full-page, single photo portrait of a Wehrmacht soldier, Kriegsmarine sailor, Waffen-SS trooper or Luftwaffe airman in the uniform of his trade, usually a tunic, helmet or visor cap, equipment and weapons. From the photographic collection of Fritz Kempe. Under each photo there is a caption describing the man or in some cases, men in the picture.
There are plenty of pictures of Wehrmacht troops in full combat gear, from ordinary Landsers and their Officers to Knights Cross winners, battalion commanders, Generals, Panzer troops, Afrikakorps men, Gebirgsjäger, SS troopers, sailors, Fallschirmjäger, U-Boot men, pilots, fliers, etc.
This is by far the best book of its type published in Germany during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler. This book belongs in the library of anyone who collects Heinrich Hoffmann photo books.

This book is complete and in very good used condition and comes with professional laser color copy of an original dust jacket.
