NAZI AUSTRIAN PROPAGANDA SUMMER 1939
A RARE JULY 1939 EXAMPLE OF THE NAZI
ÖSTERREICHISCHE BEOBACHTER NEWSPAPER
Nazi propaganda summer 1939
Nazi cartoons
For most of the 1930s, the distribution of Nazi printed propaganda material in the country of Austria was forbidden by a law that required sellers to possess a license to distribute printed matter from Germany. On occasion the Nazis were able to circumvent the law by printing a newspaper in Austria and getting it into circulation before the Austrian government shut it down.

This is a very rare example of the 6 x 8-5/8 inch, 24 page heavily illustrated historical magazine, the Österreichische Beobachter (Austrian Observer) published to present latter-day Nazis with a history of those tough times. Austrian martyrs and major events in the Nazification of Austria are presented as are political cartoons, etc. An interesting two-page spread has two contrasting pictures and poetic captions. The left hand page shows how the Jews and clerics ran the country in the pre-Nazi days with the right hand page showing how it is today with clerics crying, the Jews gone and the SS and Labor in complete control.

A very rare piece of Nazi publicity material in very good condition.
This rare Nazi propaganda Austrian newspaper is offered for sale
