Polizei Erholungsheim Das Haus am Walde
1936 Polizeiheim Erlenbruck Schwarzwald
Nazi police map
The last page shows the new four-story Polizeiheim Erlenbruck in the Black Forest which was under construction when this Nazi police Werbeschrift was being printed. The expected completion date was late summer 1936. It still exists today as the Ferienclub Erlenbruck.
The first Erholungsheim featured is the Polizeihaus Kurmark at Neubabelsberg near Potsdam, just outside Berlin, a police schooling and recreational facility on the shores of Lake Griebnitz. According to the text Police House Kurmark was completely refurbished in 1935. One of the ten pictures that accompany the feature on Polizeihaus Kurmark is a photo of a memorial stone there recognizing fallen members of the German police.
Nazi eagle and swastika police insignia
This rare Third Reich photo publication contains comprehensive information about vacation and recuperation homes for members of the German Police Fellowship Association. It was printed in 1936 by the Kameradschaftsbund Deutscher Polizeibeamten in Berlin.

In the foreword (shown left) to Erholungsheime des Kameradschaftsbundes Deutscher Polizei by Bundesleiter Luckner (World War I veteran and SS-Oberführer Franz Max „Willi“ Luckner) he explains the purpose of rest and rehabilitation homes for members of all police units and suggests frequent visits to them.
Augustusburg, Erzgebirge
Other police R & R facilities featured are Erholungsheim Kurhaus Fleesensee near Malchow in Mecklenburg (between Berlin and Rostock), Erholungsheim Das Haus am Walde in a wooded part of the Erzgebirge about 10 miles east of Chemnitz, which had 34 rooms and its own swimming pool.
Very few of these 5-¾ x 8-¼, 16 page glossy softcover Nazi police booklets have survived. This example of Erholungsheime des Kameradschaftsbundes Deutscher Polizei is in very fine condition and was stored flat and away from light for the last 85+ years. Original staples, no odor. A rare piece of period police literature!

The Boothaus Stettin on the Oder river is also shown and appears to be perfect for sailing and fishing outings.

Each facility has information about numbers of rooms and services provided, and each location is shown on a separate area map.
