| This is one of the most “German” pieces of ephemera we have ever found in years and years of hunting! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It provides a written explanation of often overlooked information, and does so in the most meticulous, highly detailed manner. It is a 9-1/2 x 12-3/8 inch Leitz medium-blue binder pre-printed for the Reichsführer-SS (Heinrich Himmler) in Berlin, Germany to hold an amazing 76 page document - an illustrated list of items supplied to Staatliche Polizei (State Police - the Kripo, Gestapo, Sicherheitspolizei, Sicherheitsdienst (SD), Gendarmerie) offices of various sizes through out Germany. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The list is dated Berlin, 15 August 1939 and concerns the distribution of utility items to posts of the Staatliche Polizei, the State or National Police. The dozens of items covered in the list are the sort of things found in police barracks, sentry posts, class rooms, kitchens and dining rooms, officers residences and similar facilities. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| There are items in the list such as tables, dishes, tableware serving pieces, chairs, clothes closets, bookcases, mattresses, pillows, desks, wash stands and even the ubiquitous red, white and black Schilderhaus or sentry box (shown left) in which posted guards stood to stay dry. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The items of tableware are pictured in a double-page spread along with a catalog of each size available. Mattresses and pillows are shown in illustrations which provide the precise location of police property stamps on them.
There are scaled and dimensioned technical drawings of police chairs, police clothing and property closets, steel bunk beds, and even those red, white and black sentry boxes. This Third Reich manual provides a superb look inside the guard posts of the Nazi SS and Police! |
