This is a grouping of five rare original Third Reich passenger liner lunch menus from the Norddeutscher Lloyd steamship ,,BREMEN’’. The Bremen was the queen of the North German Lloyd Line fleet and is shown right as depicted on a Norddeutscher Lloyd advertising barometer of the Third Reich period.
The menus are lunch menus with full-color artwork on the front covers depicting notable sights in the large cities of München, Nürnberg, Königsberg, Potsdam and Bremen. They are dated 2, 4, 28 and 29 July and 1 August 1937 respectively.
When opened each 9 x 12-1/4 inch menu has the selections listed in German on the left and in English on the right. The lunch menus include delicacies such as filet of striped bass, leg of lamb, Coburg ham, calf’s feet, sirloin steak, smoked pork ribs, Wiener schnitzel with asparagus.
These 70+ year old menus have been stored out of the sun and the artwork is beautifully printed in vivid colors with gold accents. Very good condition.
