The medal award documents offered here and the three offered below are just a part of a larger grouping of medal documents and Reichsführer-SS Himmler signed appointments for career policeman Otto Stiegeler of Baden, Germany. The other items are offered for sale by USM Books on separate web pages (see directions at the bottom of this page). The three documents in this lot are:

1) the 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch award document for the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwerten (War Service Cross 2nd Class with Swords) awarded to Hauptmann der Schutzpolizei Otto Stiegeler in the name of Reichsminister der Luftfahrt und Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe, Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring on 3 August 1942.

2) the 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch award document for the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwerten (War Service Cross 1st Class with Swords) awarded to Hauptmann der Schutzpolizei Otto Stiegeler in the name of Reichsminister der Luftfahrt und Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe, Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring on 16 December 1943. This document bears a facsimile Göring signature.

3) the 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch award document for the Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer (Honor Cross for Combatants) awarded to Polizei-Oberwachtmeister Otto Stiegeler in the name of Führer und Reichskanzler, Adolf Hitler on 18 October 1934.

The medal award documents and the appointment document offered here are the:
1) (below) 11-3/4 x 16-1/2 inch (folds to 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inches) Polizei Dienstauszeichnung Zweiter Stufe (Police Service Medal Second Degree - 18 Years) awarded in the name of the Führer und Reichskanzler dated Berlin, 29 November 1938, embossed with a seal of the Staatsminister und Chef der Präsidialkanzlei des Führers und Reichskanzlers and bearing a facsimile of the signature of Dr. Meissner.

2) (below) 11-3/4 x 16-1/2 inch (folds to 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inches) Polizei Dienstauszeichnung Erster Stufe (Police Service Medal First Degree - 25 Years) awarded in the name of the German People dated Berlin, 27 July 1939, embossed with a 3+ inch Hoheitsabzeichen or National Eagle and Swastika Seal and bearing a facsimile of the signature of Adolf Hitler.

3) (below) 11-3/4 x 16-1/2 inch (folds to 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inches) Ernennung der Polizeiobermeister im Reichsdienst (Appointment as Captain of Police in Service of the Reich) “In The Name of The Reich” appointing Polizeimeister Otto Stiegeler to Polizeiobermeister. It is dated Karlsruhe, Baden, 27 May 1937 and bears an embossed Hoheitsabzeichen or National Eagle and Swastika Seal of the Badisches Ministerium des Innern and a handwritten signature.
