NAZI MEDALS AND AWARD DOCUMENTS GROUPING
FOUR AWARD DOCUMENTS AND THREE MEDALS
TO THE SAME NAZI ARTILLERY MAN
Nazi medals and awards Erwin Dorn
This lot consists of four absolutely authentic Nazi medal award documents prepared in the field and signed by Wehrmacht Officers from Oberst to Generalleutnant as well as three of the ACTUAL MEDALS that were awarded with them to the same Wehrmacht soldier, Erwin Dorn.
THE DOCUMENTS AND MEDALS ARE:
1) a 5-3/4 x 8-1/4 inch Besitzzeugnis or Award Document for the Artillerie Sturmabzeichen in Silber (Artillery Combat Badge in Silver) in the name of dem Gefreiten Erwin Dorn of Artillerieregiment 96, 44th Division, dated 1 October 1941 and signed by the Generalleutnant and Division Commander. We do not have the actual Combat Badge.
2) a 5-1/2 x 7-7/8 inch Award Document for the Eiserne Kreuz II. Klasse or Iron Cross 2nd Class in the name of dem Gefreiten Dorn of Artillerieregiment 96, 44th Division, dated 15 November 1941 and signed by an Oberst. The original medal that came with this document is a beautifully made example of an Iron Cross 2nd Class with a German silver frame and a magnetic center. The center still has about 50% of its dusty, flat color in the black background of the cross. With its original ribbon.
Im Namen des Fuehrers und Obersten Befehlshaber der Wehrmacht
3) a 5-1/2 x 7-7/8 inch Award Document for die Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941 / 42 (Ostmedaille) or the Medal for the Winter Campaign in the East 1941/42 (East Front Medal) in the name of Fhj. Uffz. d. Res. Erwin Dorn of Art. Ers. Abt. 96, dated 26 August 1942 and signed by a Hauptmann. The original medal that came with this document is a very good example of an East Front Medal with its original ribbon.
4) a 5-1/2 x 7-7/8 inch Award Document for Verwundetenabzeichen in schwarz or Wound Badge in Black in the name of dem Gefreiten Erwin Dorn of 1. A.R. 96, dated 6 August 1942 and signed by a doctor in a Lazarett (field hospital) in Naumburg a/S. The original award that came with this document is a very good example of a black painted brass Wound Badge with its original pin back. As you can see, about 40% of the black paint is missing on this decoration, more than likely because it was worn on a uniform in the field after it was awarded.

We know that any people love to collect only the most pristine examples of Nazi Third Reich medals and awards. This grouping is NOT for those people. Each of these three medals actually came with the documents that we are selling with them. We did not get a Sturmabzeichen when we acquired this lot in Germany, so we did not add one to try to complete the lot. We leave that to the buyer. These are superb, honest examples of early war awards to an identified Wehrmacht combat veteran.

This Nazi medal and award grouping is offered for sale for $550.00
delivered to any address in the United States of America.
We are happy to ship abroad at additional cost. Please inquire.
