This is a splendid 25-¼ x 28 inch multi-colored map of Das Grossdeutsche Reich or the Greater German State of Adolf Hitler which includes the Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren, so it was produced after the Czech provinces of Bohemia and Moravia had become part of Hitler's Germany but before the invasion of Poland in September 1939. Austria is part of Nazi Germany and Slovakia is shown as a separate country

The Freytag & Berndt Karte shows western Poland, all of Hungary, northern Yugoslavia, Alsace-Lorraine, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and from Geneva, Switzerland to Amsterdam, Copenhagen to Memel. The Nazi color map perfectly depicts central Europe at a scale of 1:2,000,000, so that 2 inches is only about 65 miles.

But most important of all for historians and collectors, the names for towns, cities and provinces are shown in their German spelling. That feature is invaluable when dealing with German military documents like Soldbücher or when studying the World War II campaigns in books or on the internet.

The 80 year old Nazi map is in very nice, little used condition. No tears, no tape, no discoloration, no odor.
