Well-known German author Dieter Schwarz wrote several anti-Semitic books published by the Nazi Party publishing house Franz Eher, during the Third Reich, and in this 1938 Nazi book Die große Lüge des politischen Katholizismus (The Big Lie about Political Catholicism), he states that he wishes to expose “Jewish foreign press" lies and propaganda about suppression of religion in Nazi Germany.

The rare 5-7/8 x 8-1/4 inch, 40-page softcover book has statistical data about church attendance in Nazi Germany, new church construction, new religious orders, publicity by religious institutions, religious art, all said to repudiate foreign lies and claims.

This example of Die große Lüge des politischen Katholizismus has the stamp of the Kassenleiter (Treasurer) of NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis on the front cover and title page. St. Johannis is a section of downtown Nürnberg, the City of Nazi Party Days in Gau Franken. It has an inventory number written in pencil on the front cover and the name of the original Nazi Party member owner written inside the front cover.

Published by Zentralverlag der NSDAP Franz Eher Nachfolger, the Nazi Party publishing house in Munich in 1938, this 82 year old edition of Die große Lüge des politischen Katholizismus is complete and in very nice little-used condition, no odor.

On glossy 16 pages in the middle of the book are examples of anti-German caricatures depicting Nazi repression of religion as published in the "Jewish" foreign press, photos of religious celebrations between 1933 and 1937 as well as newly built churches, intended to prove Schwarz’s point that there was freedom of religion in Adolf Hitler’s Germany.

The back cover of Die große Lüge des politischen Katholizismus has advertising for books written by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, SS-Gruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich as well as other books by well-established author Dieter Schwarz.
