During the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler the Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party (Franz Eher Nachfolger) in München (Munich), published a remarkable series of beautiful full-color postcards featuring the flags, standards and car fender pennants of the German Wehrmacht (Armed Forces). The illustrations were done for the cards by noted München artist Gottfried Klein and show not only the colorful eagle and swastika standards of the various services, but usually a scene from the activities of that branch as a background for the standard. We offer the following lots of original rare postcards, all unused. NONE OF THESE RARE CARDS ARE POST-WAR REPRINTS!

Lot 1 (right) features card 1, the personal Standarte or Standard of Germany's 23rd Chancellor and Commander of the Armed Forces, Adolf Hitler, the Führerstandarte. This card is printed using gold metallic ink. The unused card is in excellent original condition.

Lot 2 (left) features card 21, the Standarte or Standard of the Leibstandarte SS ,,Adolf Hitler'' (LSSAH). This card is printed using both gold and silver metallic inks. The unused card is in excellent original condition.

Fahnen und Standarten der deutschen Wehrmacht

Shown at the right is the back of card 1, the card illustrated directly above it. All the cards in the Gottfried Klein series have backs that are nearly identical, except for the description of the flag and the card number in the upper left corner.

All the cards were published by Zentralverlag der NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachfolger in München (Munich), the Nazi Party Publishing House.

Lot 3 (left) includes the splendid silver fringed pink swallowtail eagle and swastika standard of the Nazi Panzerabwehr (anti-tank forces), and the amazing swastika bordered car fender pennant of the Commander in Chief of the Luftwaffe (Air Force), Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring.

Lot 2 is **SOLD**

Lot 4 (right) consists of the silver fringed blue swallowtail eagle and swastika standard of the Nazi Fahrabteilung or Motor Detachments, as well as the red and black car fender pennant of the Commander in Chief of the Heer (Army).

Lot 3 is **SOLD**

Lot 5 (left) includes both the silver fringed golden eagle and swastika standard of the Nazi Jagdflieger or Luftwaffe Fighter Squadrons, and the gold, black and white car fender pennant of the Commander in Chief of the Kriegsmarine (Navy), above a quotation by Admiral Raeder concerning the Führer.
