This is a nice tight slip-joint aluminum Wehrmacht type eating set that measures 1-13/16 x 6 inches collapsed and 1-3/4 x 10-1/8 inches set-up for use. The spoon is stamped on the back side of the handle WSuCL.
On the front side of the fork handle ahead of the pivot rivet is an arrow pointing to the rivet. Between the arrow and the rivet the initials LB are scratched into the aluminum.
NAZI WEHRMACHT
ALUMINUM MESS
KIT DATED 1939
This is a nice original completely standard Nazi Wehrmacht mess kit, complete with its original wire bail in good used "battlefield" condition. The lid is well-marked at the junction of the handle with the letters HWSD 39.
The messkit was apparently painted black originally and still retains a fair bit of that paint on some parts. It has the usual assortment of small dings and dents but is all there and completely serviceable.
