| This is an excellent, well-made book from a very historic period in German history. In 1939, the firm of J.D. Riedel - E. de Haën AG of Berlin-Britz celebrated its 125th year in the business of manufacturing a wide range of chemicals. To properly celebrate the occasion they hired and excellent photographer to document the pharmaceutical company and they produced this fine book. |

| The big 11-1/4 x 11-1/4 inch, very heavily illustrated, 72 page, linen hardcover book is packed with very large, very clear (Emil Leitner of Berlin-Charlottenburg was the principal photographer) black & white photographs of the state of the art J.D. Riedel - E. de Haën AG factory, its equipment, employees, production lines, research department, warehouses, etc. |

The first few pages cover the history of the company and the next few speak to the pleasant conditions the company created for its employees to work in. That section contains photos of the uniformed Nazi Werkscharen (factory squads), the uniformed factory fire department and even the factory orchestra beneath a picture of the Führer, Germany’s 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler.
A splendid, old historic book in very good condition. |
