nazi pre-war diplomatic communications
This 83 year old Nazi book in the German language came from the library of the NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis in Nürnberg, Gau Franken where it was their book number G.334. This library number was written on the front flyleaf, title page and dust jacket and the spine has a label with the G.334 number. The 35mm round eagle and swastika stamp of the NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis appears on the front flyleaf and title page as well as on the original dust jacket.

Any prospective purchaser might be interested to know that we purchased this Third Reich book in a group of rare books ‘liberated’ shortly after the end of World War II by an American Army Captain working in an office that had been occupied during the Third Reich by staff of Ortsgruppe Nürnberg-St. Johannis.

This 5-¾ x 7-¾ inch, 254-page hardcover edition of 100 Dokumente zur Vorgeschichte des Krieges is in very nice condition. The dust jacket is an original from the Third Reich and is in poor condition (see photo on the right).
After a December 1939 foreword by Nazi Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop, the book has notes, memoranda and correspondence showing the diplomatic history and foreign relations between Germany and Poland, the last one dated 3 September 1939. It shows there was extensive communications between German and Polish Foreign Office in 1938 and 1939. There are also British entries relating to the 1938 Munich Agreement and excerpts from Winston Churchill speeches.
