Konzentrationslager Mauthausen
,,MAUTHAUSEN”
GERMAN EXPOSÉ OF THE
NOTORIOUS NAZI
CONCENTRATION CAMP

Mauthausen Concentration Camp
Nazi prisoners The booklet contains gruesome photos from Konzentrationslager Mauthausen (KLM or Mauthausen Concentration Camp) as well as a text that describes the horrible conditions and severe discipline at the “SS Showpiece” camp and stone quarry just east of the city of Linz, Germany (now Austria).
Germany’s 23rd Chancellor Adolf Hitler spent much of his youth in Linz and Leonding bei Linz and had grand plans to make the city into the art capital of Großdeutschland. When Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler decided to erect a Konzentrationslager on a bluff overlooking the Donau (Danube) river he wanted it to be the centerpiece of his SS prison system. He had it built in a medieval fortress-style of cold gray granite.

This undated booklet was apparently printed in the mid 1950s and contains a plan of the grounds in addition to the fold-out map in the book, showing all the camp facilities including the infamous stone quarry and the “staircase of death”. In excellent condition.
