This is a spectacular big 8-1/2 x 10-1/4 inch, 384 page very, very heavily illustrated rare hard cover book called Luftnachrichtentruppe in Norwegen (Air Force Signal Troops in Norway) as published at the direction of Generalleutnant Otto Kühne, Head of Luftflotte 5 from 9 April 1940 through 15 May 1942. Historical material from the Luftflotte was meshed with hundreds of wonderful color and black & white photographs and original graphic material at the Luftwaffe Signals School in Halle on the Saale river to produce this remarkable book.
Substantial coverage is given to the visit of German Chancellor Adolf Hitler to Finland in May 1942.
The book is absolutely full of photographic and graphic material that we have never seen anywhere else. It is a unique document on a little-known subject that was published in small numbers and that is rarely offered for sale. Very good condition.
Following full-page portraits of other Luftwaffe leaders, Generalfeldmarschall Erhard Milch and Generaloberst Stumpff, there are uncountable photos of Luftnachrichten facilities, personnel, equipment, aircraft and weapons; charts, maps, sketches and drawings, etc. explaining the German Luftwaffe occupation of Norway and Finland.
