This original hardcover Nazi ID contains several rubber stamps accompanying entries about Matrose Dell's service on the Nazi Kriegsmarine ships Sachsenwald and Millerntor. There are also rubber stamps regarding health checks, health insurance payments and food and cigarette rations.

This 4 x 5-¾ inch Kriegmarine ID has 112 pages. The first 39 light green pages have room for personal service entries, and pages 40 through 112 are "rules and regulations" and service information for members of the Kriegsmarine.

This Deutsches Reich Seefahrtsbuch has its original ID photo of Matrose Werner Dell. It is complete with two punch holes through the front cover. Note that the swastika of the Hoheitszeichen on page 1 was covered up with blue ink, no doubt because Werner Dell used this rare Third Reich ID after the war was over to work and to prove his identity. A hard-to-find document, especially one issued so late in World War II.

This Deutsches Reich Seefahrtsbuch Nr. 8187 was issued in Hamburg, Germany on 27 January 1945 to Werner Otto Dell of Weinheim. Blond, blue eyed Dell was born on 21 July 1923 in Weinheim, so he was 21 years old when this Kriegsmarine ID was issued to him by the Seemannsamt in Hansestadt Hamburg. Page 6 contains an entry stating that this is a replacement apparently after Dell provided credible proof he lost his first Seefahrtsbuch.
