The Holocaust Chronicle - A History in Words and Pictures is an enormous, heavy, hardcover book measuring 9-½ x 11-¼ by 2 inches thick with 768 very heavily illustrated pages featuring thousands of pictures from Third Reich Germany that should be of interest to anyone interested or knowledgable about the period. The Holocaust Chronicle book was part of a not-for-profit personal project of the publisher, Louis Weber, CEO of Chicago-based Publications International, Ltd. whose parents were Polish Jews who arrived in America in the 1920s. 

The huge 6-½ pound book is filled with stories, minutia and statistics on the fate of Jews from Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Poland, Yugoslavia, the Balkans as well as Jehovas Witnesses, gypsies, masons and other population segments that the National Socialists that ruled Germany deemed undesirable. While we have not read the text of this book and are thus unable to offer an opinion on it, we do feel that the valuable archival photographs, both public and private, the Third Reich minutia, and the caption material in the English language make The Holocaust Chronicle well worth adding to any library of period material.

There is extensive illustrated information on almost every page regarding well-known and lesser-known high-ranking National Socialists, resistance groups and Nazi collaborators, slave labor, partisans, concentrations camps (well-known large ones as well as small, lesser-known Konzentrationslager), medical experiments, the dubious roles of organizations like the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Milice, the logistics of mass deportations (transportation on the Deutsche Reichsbahn, processing of confiscated personal belongings and property, etc.), German companies that profited enormously from using slave labor (Krupp, BMW, IG Farben and many more), the production of V2 rockets, the massacres at Katyn, Oradour-sur-Glane and Adreatine Caves, the liberation of Europe and the Allied liberation of the camps, German surrender, Wehrmacht prisoners and their postwar trials, accused collaborators, Nazi fugitives, postwar resettlement of displaced persons, victims and statistics, and much, much more.

Nearly 300 sidebars with photos detail significant people, places, issues, and events. There are many full-color maps, meticulous archival documents, posters, art, philatelic material identity documents, etc.
