Das Hohelied vom Dritten Reich starts with a patriotic quote by Adolf Hitler. A full-page portrait of President von Hindenburg follows, accompanied by a write-up of his many accomplishments, including his new role as the president of Nazi Germany (“patron of the young Germany”). The remainder of the 94 pages are about Adolf Hitler, the new Nazi cabinet, gatherings of huge masses of people celebrating the new Nazi government, 21 March 1933 - Potsdam Day, 1 May - the National Day of Labor, the Reichsautobahn and other job creating projects, the HJ, BdM and RAD, sport in Nazi Germany, the Tannenberg Memorial, the Nazi Party Day of Victory in Nuremberg, Germany leaving the League of Nations, efforts to reduce poverty and hunger in Germany with charity collections, and more.

Other pictures include Hitler looking at laborers working on the enlargement of the NSDAP Braunes Haus in Munich, masses of people waiting to see Adolf Hitler, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, President Paul von Hindenburg in Potsdam, a splendid portrait of Hermann Goering, the huge Labor Day rally at Tempelhof Field on 1 May 1933 (below left), a rare photo of Rudolf Hess and SA Stabchef Ernst Röhm together (below), Reichsparteitag des Sieges, a mass Nazi wedding, marching SA men, marching manual laborers carrying shovels, Hitler Youth boys and BdM girls, men and women of the Nazi Arbeitsdienst, the opening ceremony at Tannenberg Memorial in East Prussia, the huge Harvest Festival at Bückeberg, the 10th anniversary of the Nazi Putsch in Munich, Vice Chancellor von Papen in Rome, and much more.

There is a rare full-page picture of the Quadriga on top of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin decorated with the old red, white and black German flag but also flying the Nazi swastika “Flag of the Victorious Revolution”.

The pictures are credited to Heinrich Hoffmann, Scherl, Atlantik, Press-Bild-Zentrale and several other sources.

This rare original 89 year old example of Das Hohelied vom Dritten Reich is in very nice used condition. A bit of wear to the hard covers is obvious in our picture near the top of this USMBOOKS web page. The interior pages are in very good used condition and the book has a tight spine and no odor. The name of a previous owner is written on the front flyleaf.

Das Hohelied vom Dritten Reich (The Song of Songs of the Third Reich) is a rare oversized hardcover summary of the first year of the National Socialist government in Germany, from 30 January 1933 - 30 January 1934. The text is by Wilfrid Bade (author of Die SA erobert Berlin), and this rare 10-½ x 13-1/2 inch, 96-page hardcover book was published by Erich Zander for Verlag ‘Die Deutsche Illustrierte’ in Berlin in 1934. This is Volume 1 titled Arbeit und Brot (Labor and Bread) of a planned series of Hohelied books, but no other volumes were ever published.
