Berghof
Voelkischer Beobachter
Another rare Heinrich Hoffmann photo book produced during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler is this 96 page, 7 x 10 inch, soft cover volume called Hitler Abseits vom Alltag (Hitler, the Every Day Life of a Solitary Man). It contains 100 photos of Hitler in his surroundings at the Berghof on the Obersalzberg above Berchtesgaden and in other venues.
Hitler is seen traveling by train, by car and by air, in the Harz mountains, returning to Landsberg Prison, with Albert Speer, Professor Gall, Baldur von Schirach, Martin Bormann, sculptor Josef Thorak, at the grave or Carin Göring, with Göring and his wife Emmy at Carinhall on the Schorfheide, and in general the perfect picture of contentment.
With dozens and dozens of spectacular full-page and half-page photos, this 1937 edition 26-50,000 Zeitgeschichte-Verlag (Berlin) book presents Hitler in a way the world had never seen him before: at ease in his mountain home, with children and adults, reading, talking, relaxing, signing autographs and picnicking. There are many interior and exterior shots of the Berghof.
The original dust jacket is in good used condition and the book is in very good condition.
