| This is an excellent framed display measuring approximate 17 x 21 inches containing an assortment of reproduction material connected with the life and assassination of Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich, Nazi Deputy Reichsprotektor of Bohemia and Moravia, SS-Obergruppenführer and General of Police. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The 1-3/8 inch deep beveled oak frame contains the following items beneath a layer of Plexiglas: - a 5 x 5-1/4 inch photograph of Reinhard Heydrich. - a standard 2 x 2-3/4 inch aluminum German Erkennungsmarke or dogtag bearing the name EINSATZSTAB RF-SS (runes) and Heydrichs SS serial number. - a 3-1/2 x 17-3/4 inch white steel license plate bearing the number SS (runes) -3, the license plate used on the Mercedes-Benz car in which Heydrich was riding when he was mortally wounded in May 1942. - an embroidered black and silver cuff band bearing the name Reinhard Heydrich and pins with the emblem of the SS Nord Division and SS runes. - full-size embroidered metal-thread eagles and swastikas, a skull and SS General uniform collar tabs, and SS eagle and skull pins. - 2-1/2 x 3-2/8 inch photo portraits of both Jan Kubis and Josef Gabcik, the Czech commandos who carried out the attack on Heydrichs car that resulted in his death. |
